Katariina Vuorinen (born 1976 in Janakkala ) is a Finnish poet . She holds a Master of Philosophy in Finnish Literature (TaY). Vuorinen has worked at the University of Jyväskylä as a planner and assistant to the rector. She is also a teacher of creative writing. Since 2010, Vuorinen has been a freelance writer.

Vuorinen made her debut in 1992, winning both the YLE Maailman Matkassa competition and the Häme County writing competition. In 1999, she was awarded the Finnish Cultural Foundation’s Great Poetry Competition.

Vuorinen’s debut work Edith kissed me in a dream was published in 2001 and was nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat Literary Prize . Her second collection of poems Kylmä rintama was published in 2006. His third collection of poems Rouvien ja lintujen talo was published in 2010 and was nominated for the Tiiliskivi Prize in 2011. Her fourth collection Uudenvuodenlaki was published in 2015 and received excellent reviews . Vuorinen served as the chairman of the Central Finland Writers’ Association from 2008 to 2013. From 2008 to 2011, he was a member of the board of the Youth Power Association .

In addition to her poetry, Vuorinen has contributed to many anthologies and has worked on cross-art projects. Through his writing and nomadic life, he has traveled and performed all over the world. Vuorinen’s poems have been translated into German, English, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Slovenian, Estonian, Icelandic, Albanian, Latvian, Hungarian, Arabic and Russian. Vuorinen is a columnist for Hämeen Sanomat. In 2005–2009, she worked as an assistant critic for Keskisuomalainen. In 2010–2011, Vuorinen wrote for the Uutisruno column of Väli-Suomen Media’s Sunnuntaisuomalainen .
